Music Festival Holidays

Music festivals are fast becoming the summer holiday of choice for Britain’s youth. It seems that we’ve all grown out of packing our beach towel and flip flops for a grueling week of sun burn and unprotected sex on the Costa del Sol and it’s about time too. Rather than making the costly annual pilgrimage to Ibiza there is now an alternative get away for clubbers and party animals which is by the far the easiest, cheapest and most satisfying way to throw off the shackles of every day life and let loose for a long weekend. This is of course the music festival, where anyone is welcome to dance the night away (and the next few days as well if you have the stamina).

This summer marks the dawn of British festival goers having access not only to the standard UK festivals like Reading and Leeds but being able to reach the far flung territories of Serbia’s Exit  festival, Germany’s Melt festival and perhaps the jewel in Europe’s crown: Spain’s Benicassim festival. With soul shaking line ups including the Arctic Monkeys, Elbow, Tinie Tempah, Arcade fire and Paul Kalkbrenner appearing at all of these festivals you’d have to be a recluse to stay at home this summer.
